When i do a search for my site http://purestdrinkingwater.com/ it comes up as index. Is there a way to change that without loosing my page?
I previously asked how to change the name of my home page (index.html) But everyone advised me not to.Why is it when i do a search for my website, it comes up %26quot;index%26quot;?IT's sounds like you suspected the answer already, here's your confirmation: It's because the title of your index.htm is %26quot;index%26quot;.
I've been doing SEO + Web Design since 1995 (texxsmith.com) and while it can hurt your SE rankings a little (but only temporarily) you need to change your title to a targeted keyphrase right away. It'll take a few months to propgate through the search engines.
I also noticed lots of other SEO and web design %26quot;no-no's%26quot; on your site. Also I noticed that your using Yahoo site builder ( and therefore yahoo web-hosting), this too can be a not so good thing.
Did you know a pro will only charge you about $500 for 5 page web site? At least that's the special I'm having now (mine comes w/ free asic SEO package too). If you can get better ranking in the search engines and a site that converts visitors to sales it's likely that this will pay for itself.Why is it when i do a search for my website, it comes up %26quot;index%26quot;?The reason it shows Index in yahoo search is because the html code %26lt;title%26gt;%26lt;/title%26gt; of your home page is index.
Change it to %26lt;title%26gt;Purest Drinking Water%26lt;/title%26gt;
It may take awhile before yahoo re-indexes it and updates.
